Your DGC Benefits Plan provides you and your family with valuable, affordable mental and physical health coverage and financial protection if you experience an illness, injury or disability. In this section, we explain how the plan works and what’s covered under each level.
For most of us, staying out of harm’s way is a top priority. But, despite our best efforts, accidents can happen. And when they do, it’s good to know that you have some extra protection.
The DGC Benefits Plan’s accident insurance pays a benefit if you’re injured or die because of an accident either on or off the job. Payments are tax-free to your beneficiary and are paid in addition to your life insurance.
Accident insurance coverage is based on your coverage level and age limits.
No evidence of insurability is required for coverage under the DGC Benefits Plan. In other words, you will not be required to provide proof of good health, complete a medical questionnaire or undergo any medical exams.
The insurer will pay the benefit shown below if you suffer an injury which results in any one of the following specific losses within one year from the date of accident. Only one benefit (the largest) will be paid for a loss with respect to all injuries resulting from one accident.
